“In a heavily edited and carefully scripted video released online yesterday, Joe Biden announced that he would be seeking re-election to a second term so that he and Kamala Harris can ‘finish the job.’
Only halfway through their first term, the American people are ready to close the book on this failed presidency, with 70% of Americans agreeing that Biden should not run again. Who can blame them? This administration has fought, since Day 1, to enact a radical agenda that has worsened the affordability crisis, crippled our national security, and has made us a laughingstock on the world stage. If Biden and Harris want to ‘finish the job,’ it must only be to further harm our country. We cannot allow that to happen.
To beat Biden in 2024, Republicans will need to mobilize in every state — but, more importantly, the Republican Party will need to make an effort at every level to engage with young voters. According to Gallup, 50% of voters under the age of 40 identify as politically independent, an unprecedented shift which has turned traditionally blue states like New York into competitive general election battlegrounds.
It was because of our army of more than 2,000 young volunteers in 2022 that New York Republicans flipped the four seats necessary to secure the House Majority in Washington. The Association remains committed to working with our partners under the big growing tent of the Republican Party so that we can expand the House Majority and beat Biden.
Make no mistake, the road to a Republican White House runs through New York, and we won’t settle for anything short of total victory.”
