“On behalf of the entire Association, which represents more than 50 county- and campus-based chapters, as well as more than 2,500 active members around the state, I’d like to congratulate Ed Cox on his election as Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee.
I look forward to working with the Chairman to empower young leaders and elevate their voices within the state party organization. More than 45 Young Republicans were on the ballot in last year’s general election and more than 30 of them were propelled past the finish line as a direct result of our efforts. We proved then that the strength of our movement is strong, and let me be clear — without the Young Republicans, there would have been no New York Red Wave nor would there be a Republican House Majority in Washington right now. Time and time again, Young Republicans in New York have proven that they are not the future of the party — they are the Republican Party today.
With the spotlight shining on the significance of “the youth vote” in New York and around the country, it is clear that the time for equal representation within the party is long overdue. We will not settle for ceremonial titles or the occasional nicety on social media — we need seats at the table, our voices to be heard, and, above all else, an open line of communication at all times. This is the recognition that we have been fighting for, this is the recognition we deserve, and this is the only way to unite our state party and win.”
